  • I'm unsure that sums up the planned message here. My previous comment explains why these two changes haven't been made together with some information. The first being that Runescape is to get its RuneScape community as a whole (not only RS3), and the second being automatic filtering for this type of article was attempted and found to not be possible to accurately accomplish. We're open to suggestions that would be possible to implement without detracting from the purpose of this subreddit and its own community.

I mean, yeah your prior remark lays out just why the communities suggestions, in your opinion, are poor to the system you've got in place currently. If anything the view represented by the OP are more in accordance with this'vision' of this subreddit (wanting to include both RS3 and OSRS (which in itself is absurd being they have seperate content, dev teams etc. but like my opinion man)) by stating your articles has a house here but when its regarding anything in specificity to go elsewhere, very similar to how the Reddit FC is/was run.

So instead of tuning ity'all yanked it? Tell me again how your team believes your system is not fine in comparison with community ideas. I have obtained a e-mail I believe to be a phishing attempt, I must sift through the wiki, email'email address that when I sort could get me banned for submitting a phishing link', receive a reply that says"this email has been discontinued", return to this wiki to discover you need to report it on the forums, then login to runescape but maybe not on the phishing attempt tab, return to the homepage not the forum sub-topic you requested, run the login temple of doom again, locate the sub-topic, then the article and also report the scam.

Instead of asking a neighborhood of 234,037 people and having a bot hit your inbox close immediately with:"If you believe you have received a phishing effort please verify sender address (instance ), domain (example), here are the common examples (link). If you've received an attempt please report it (helpful navigation for forum article."

In respect to our system"working fine as is," we are aware that it is not perfect, but there is not necessarily a solution that satisfies issues from all perspectives. Additionally, there are other issues taking up our own time, and we are just volunteers here, so we don't always have the time to dedicate to tackle a number of those smaller problems. My previous remarks were intended to clarify why the situation stands as it now does for the specific issues mentioned, not describe why things will not change.

A vast majority of users see the subreddits as being independent anyway ( runescape = RS3 and 2007 runescape = OSRS), so this is not something we have needed to tackle prominently since the volume of OSRS-related submissions here is minimal. One complication with post filtering is it can not be presumed users will always use standards in a place that will visit a filter as it isn't necessarily the case. AutoModerator filters based on specific criteria, so building an accurate list that's only specific to everything you're trying to catch is not always possible.
